Established in 2001, Sunflower Montessori, a private company, runs several crèches and After-School clubs dedicated to the principles of Maria Montessori. Sunflower provides a safe and secure environment where children of all nationalities can investigate, explore, gain confidence and independence and develop language skills.

We are looking for full-time Manager (M/F) who speak English fluently, to manage our dynamic international team.

General objective

The Manager represents the structure and is responsible for it in relation to third parties. It is he/she who will give the first impression of the facility to parents.

The Manager and Assistant Manager work closely together on a day-to-day basis.

The Manager is responsible for the decision-making power of the facility.

The Assistant Manager assists the Manager and undertakes, in the event of the latter's absence, to perform the Manager's duties in full and to pass on to him/her all information and decisions taken in his/her absence.

Before becoming a Manager or Assistant Manager, never lose sight of the fact that you are first and foremost an Educator.

Your tasks :

Relationship with the assistant manager

Working in tandem with the Assistant Manager by :

  • Including him/her in day-to-day tasks and responsibilities (in all the tasks listed below)
  • Replacing him/her in case of absence
  • Discussing various issues with him/her (teaching, organisation, etc.)

Relationships with children

  • Welcoming them and helping them to learn the basics of daily life and the rules of community life
  • Ensuring that they adapt well and that their needs are met
  • Create and establish conditions for individual and collective well-being
  • Establish educational relationships with children, understand their development and monitor their progress
  • Raising children's awareness of the importance of hygiene.

Relations with parents

  • Welcoming and informing parents about the day's activities
  • Ensuring that parents are satisfied throughout their child's stay at the structure.
  • Drive forward the partnership approach with parents
  • To be the main point of contact for parents for any specific requests relating to the care of their children
  • Visits parents' premises in collaboration with the sales department.

Leading and implementing the educational project

To initiate, develop and lead activities in accordance with :

  • The reference framework on the non-formal education of children and young people (children's needs; the role of the educator; respect for fields of action).
  • The Babilou Family educational project.

Team management

  • To ensure that all new team members are prepared for their onboarding and offboarding in accordance with Human Resources guidelines.
  • Ensure that the first and last day of each new team member's employment is carried out in accordance with the usual rules as defined by Human Resources.
  • Ensure that internal procedures are applied and relayed to the team
  • Apply the internal disciplinary procedures where necessary (readjustments, calls to order, escalation to Human Resources)
  • Manage and implement the team's work schedules independently, in compliance with employment legislation and management instructions (in case of doubt, consult operational management)
  • To ensure that holiday requests are managed responsibly and independently, and to maintain a safety margin in the event of absence due to illness or any other reason that could disrupt the team's schedule
  • Ensure regular monitoring of annual leave and overtime for team members
  • Maintain a spirit of cohesion and collaboration between structures in managing unforeseen events (need for reinforcements, etc.)
  • Contacting the operational manager directly for any reinforcement requirements.
  • Be a driving force behind proposals and create a work dynamic
  • Ensuring constructive communication and the smooth running of your team
  • Ensuring that staff are provided with access resources on the first day of work and that it is returned on the last day of work, and passing on information to Human Resources (badges, keys, etc.).
  • Be attentive to any feedback from the team and its members.
  • Monitor trial periods and integrations of team members in accordance with the internal process and procedure (forward any documents drawn up as soon as possible to the operational manager).
  • To monitor the return of team members from maternity and parental leave, in close collaboration with the operational manager.)

Administrative management

Working with the purchasing and maintenance departments

  • Monitoring the safety of buildings and play structures (indoor and outdoor) in conjunction with management and the maintenance department
  • Reporting to the maintenance team any need for intervention or work in a reactive and anticipatory manner, if the situation permits
  • Determines equipment requirements in conjunction with management
  • Report any equipment requirements to the purchasing department in advance
  • Prepare equipment orders and manage stocks

In conjunction with the parent relations department

  • Manage daily registrations with the CSA (fixed price, advance notice, meals, one-off activities, etc.) within the set deadlines.

In conjunction with the Education Department

  • Drawing up and monitoring the CAG and the logbook in conjunction with the educator/teacher
  • Manage the facility's budget and expenditure (in agreement with the Management)

In conjunction with the nursing service

  • Ensuring that all children's files are complete and regularly updated (in particular emergency protocols and PAIs)
  • Monitoring health and hygiene procedures
  • Consulting and reporting incidents to the nursing service

In relation with Management

  • Ensuring compliance with the procedures implemented by management
  • Passing on information from your team to management in a clear and objective manner.

Your profile

  • Perfect command of all aspects of the job (educational project, organisation of the crèche, group allocation, feeding the children, health supervision, relations with the company's other crèches, etc.)
  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar position
  • Work independently, be organised, responsible and discreet
  • A pragmatic approach to managing unforeseen events (staff absences, etc.)
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and resistance to pressure
  • Ability to listen, communicate and negotiate
  • Willingness to learn, train and keep up to date in order to improve
  • Ability to use the IT and communication tools at your disposal
  • Fluency in English is mandatory
